# About the Author

Dana M. Lewis is one of the creators and founders of the Open Source Artificial Pancreas System (OpenAPS), and is passionate about increasing access and availability of artificial pancreas technology globally. She’s spent 7 years writing dozens of blog posts about first-hand experiences and has numerous peer-reviewed papers aggregating data from the DIY community and documenting how to further improve DIY and commercial closed loop systems.
